Robyn's Wedding

Ok Erin and Bri....what you've been waiting for!! A few weeks ago I drove down to Vegas for Robyn's wedding. It was great to be in Vegas again with the roommates....almost all that is. We missed Erin and Bri, but hope to see them at the next wedding!

Friday, everyone came in and that night there was a girls night (which of course included Troy and Chad since they married two of the girls) at the Tobiasson home. It felt like the old days. Grandpa, Sherry (Robyn's mom), the Mur (Robyn's dad) were all there. Shane was nice enough to let the Wares, Shannon and I stay at his house. It was nice to be so close to everything. Grandpa was funny...he kept asking where the girl from North Carolina was...no Tobiasson will ever forget Erin! =) Anyway....we had a great time that night and it was fun to have Kirsten Kelly Rose there..she was in our ward in Liberty Square and then she lived with Robyn in SLC after the BYU days....so she felt like a roommate that weekend.

Saturday was quite the day!! They were married in the Las Vegas temple, followed by a lunch at a nearby Marriott Casino which was really nice, the Ring Ceremony and Reception at a beautiful country club. It was a wonderful day.

The Holidays

Christmas and New Years was spent with the Sellers this year. We had Christmas morning with Drew's parents; Christmas Dinner with Sellers and Stiggins (Drew's mom's side) and our friend Alex Ugrinoski from the Utah Flash. He is from Croatia and could not go home due to games being so close to the holidays, so he spent it with all of us. He is a great guy and we were glad to have him a part of the celebrations.

Grandma Sellers told us a wonderful Christmas story which left us all teary eyed. It was about a boy who had a younger brother who always wanted to emulate his older brother. The younger boy has a disease and couldn't always do everything, and as older siblings can sometimes be, he didn't always appreciate his younger brother and didn't always stick up for him. It soon cam into their teenage years and the younger boy was very sick. He didn't have much time left and he gave his older brother a watch that he had been wanting for several years and a hand drawn card. The older brother had not gotten him anything, and shortly after Christmas he passed away. The story then goes into the surviving boy's college days, and he is in his college dorm room at Christmas time. The boy was going to leave for the holidays and he was looking on his wall, reading the hand drawn card that was now some what faded. He never forgot his younger brother and always had a special place in his heart for him. He became an example to others by always looking out for those that were in the background and befriended them, and never forgot his younger brother and his example. It was a much more beautiful story than I have paraphrased here, but it made me think how important everyone is in my life and how much I need to be like Christ and look out for everyone around me, regardless of who they are or their background.

A few days before New Years, Shannon came into town for a visit. The Butlers had also come to Utah for the holidays with Dave's family. We went up to SLC and met up with them. There was a lot of snow over the holidays, and the boys were having great fun sledding in the empty lot next to Ron and Ann's. Sadly, Drew was sick, so he didn't come up with us, but these two pictures are the boys with the gifts that we gave them so Drew could see how much they enjoyed them.

While we were inside the house the boys were enjoying the snow outside. Trenton and his cousins found some pretty neat icicles. Trenton's was in the shape of a sword!

Johannes' Wedding

Yes, it has been far too long since I've posted I know...Drew and Kelsey are getting after me, so here we go. First off, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. It was great Christmas and New Years with friends and family. I'll post more about that later...but Happy 2008 to all our friends world wide!!!

As the Wares did, I'll post in parts-each being a different event. Drew successfully endured finals and enjoyed his break. He is working full time with the Utah Flash which takes up a lot of his time outside of school and weekends. Jenna quit her job at the Real Estate company and is now working for BYU in the EFY department which she LOVES!!! I also started working at the Disney Store as well which took up more hours than originally thought, but that has thankfully slowed down. During this past month, we have had multiple guests come visit and other friends who have come in for the holidays. First, Johannes Fischli (a good friend from Palo Alto) got married in mid December. Jackie and Lindsay came into town for it, which was great fun. I really miss my friends, so seeing them whenever we can is great. Here are some pix from that weekend:

(we thought it was cold then, you should be here now!)

The happy couple-Christine and Johannes Fischli

Johannes with Jerrol and JaLynn Kiger-best family ever! It was so great to see them.

They were married in SLC temple and had a small intimate reception in Sandy afterwards. Drew and I loved having Lindsay and Jackie in town....luckily Drew and I are friends with everyone, so it makes it easy when we see them. We loved having them in town and hope they will come again soon.

I'll be honest, I didn't get home tonight from work due to EFY counselor interviews until almost 8. So I hope that I'll be able to post another one tomorrow, but if I don't have the energy, it might have to wait another day. But I definately will be posting more often.
