Fun times throughout October...

This month sure has flown by! First, Drew's brother Preston turned 18 on October 5. We went to Tempanyaki to celebrate.

Grandma and Grandpa Stiggins

The birthday boy and baby Ellie

Grandma and Grandpa Sellers

Aunt Littia and Uncle Jared (Ellie's parents)

Drew, Melody, Terry, and Preston

We were also able to go up to Salt Lake early in the month to see friends from Palo Alto that came into town for conference. It was so fun to see them. Our friend Heather Hammond was kind enough to open up her home to all of us to have a party! It gave me my Stanford Ward fix until I go back for Jackie's birthday (17 days!!!) Here are some of the people who came:

Jenna and Laura (ever since we were little we said we would go to BYU together...now we finally have! It's so great having her here!)

Umi and Jenna (she is now Sister Jensen in Korea!)

Rebekah, Heather, Jenna, and Lindsey

Drew and his home teachee (and my visiting teachee) Whitney

Laura, Rebekah, Drew, Brad, Adam, and Bryan eating pizza

Drew and I went along with his family later on in October to Gardner Village in South Jordan to see the Witches. Gardner Village used to be a mill owned by Archibald Gardner. They converted the mill into a shop and resturant and later added old historic homes from throughout the Salt Lake and Utah Valley to add fun little shops. My family and I always go here when we visit which usually isn't during the holidays. So it will be a fun new tradition to start with the Sellers for the holidays.

Witch, Preston, Drew, and Terry

Preston's giant jaw-breaker

Drew and the Pumpkin Choir

Brothers!

Melody and Terry taking a break from walking around

All in all, October has been a fun month. It sure has gone by fast. We're looking forward to Halloween tomorrow where we are going to have a party with Drew's friends from high school and their wives/girlfriends. We're going to have Witches Brew and make Carmel Apples. It's my first time making them from scratch, so cross your fingers that it all works out!

Update From Drew

Ok peoples, it has been long enough since I've updated this blog. Let's see what's new. School. School is going well, I am about halfway through this semester. I was just accepted into the public relations program at BYU. It was kind of exciting but not a big deal if you ask me. Jenna seemed to think differently. She bought me a cake and invited people over. Are you kidding me? Well, any good reason to celebrate I guess. Here is the cake she got:

So that was fun stuff. I am looking forward to getting closer to graduation and getting specialized in PR. 16 credits keep me busy as can be with school.

I am also doing an internship with the Utah Flash right now. The Utah Flash is a minor league affiliate basketball team for the Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics. We are in our first season and will be playing at the McKay Events Center at UVSC. (See Brandt Andersen Blog) I'm doing some fun public relations, community relations, and media relations activities. I got all of the national anthem singers lined up for the home games as well as several visits from players to schools. It has been fun and a great learning experience. On Monday I'll be representing the Utah Flash in a call with the NBA. That should be fun.

I'm also getting some service programs lined up. Project Youth and the Students Giving Back Charity Ball and Auction will be taking place in March, but there are thousands of things that need to happen so they will be successful. It's fun and keeps me busy. I am so grateful for Jenna and her support.

Football season is in full swing and last week we went to the BYU game. It snowed like crazy but with all of our layers plus our blanket and a pancho draped across us to keep us dry and warm. It was fun to watch the game in the blizzard and we had a great time.

Life is good. I may or may not update this blog more often, we'll have to see...

I've Been Tagged!

Ok, Bri and Leilani...it has taken me long enough to do this... (and I can't use kids as an excuse for the delay like you two could have) but here it goes.

So I've been tagged and am supposed to write 6 facts about myself. To join in the fun write 6 facts about yourself and ask 6 others to do the same.

1. Pictures-I LOVE pictures. Whether I have taken them and I am putting them up around the house, in the scrapbook/album, online, or they are someone else's, I love to look at them. It is fun to see how people have changed or how they haven't. What they are doing. Since all of my friends are at least 40 min away from me or out of state, it is the perfect way to see that people are happy, enjoying life and doing well.

2. Food/Baking-I have always enjoyed eating food. When I was little and people would take pictures of me at a party or just in general, many times, I was there eating food. I also love watching the Food network, to learn new recipes and see different ways of displaying food. I love baking and enjoy having a kitchen that I can do it in! My old apt. in Palo Alto was old and I just never wanted to bake and cook a lot. But now that I am in a newer place that I can clean, it is great. For my bridal shower and wedding, I received many cookbooks and recipes which I can now test out!

3. Food leads me into another love of mine, Party Planning-I have such an enjoyment for planning parties for any occasion. Whether its the beginning of the year, someone getting a new job, a birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower or holiday, I love to plan a party. I love to celebrate with friends and go through the entire planning process and then to see it all come to pass. We're having a Halloween party next week with Drew's friends and their wives, which I am really looking forward to.

4. Exercise-I love to work out....hopefully I do enough to make up for all the eating I do! =) Ever since my freshman year of college, I have become a lover of running and tae bo/kick boxing (thanks Bri and Leilani!). During college, Leilani and Robyn kept me running often with all of the races we did in Provo and Moab. Since then, I have continued to do it. It is a perfect time to relax, take time for yourself, think, and listen to music. I have to have music in the background to workout and its a great time for me to listen to the music and my thoughts.

5. Music/Singing-I love music and singing. I have always enjoyed singing with others and listening to music. I am always one who will drive in the car with the music on and sing. I don't sing in the shower, but you can always find me singing away in the car. Sometimes while I am running, I even start to mouth the words...I just love it!

6. Games-I have always enjoyed playing games. I wouldn't say that video games are my forte, but card and board games are always fun. It is a great time to spend with friends, and I love learning new ones. Drew's family is into card games and Settler's of Catan, so I get to play those often. Now that I am amongst game lovers again, I hope to expand my game library!

There are just a few fun things about me...I'll post pix soon! =)
