Palo Alto Open House

We went home this weekend for the Palo Alto open house. We had a wonderful time seeing friends from the Palo Alto area, and those who came from Sacramento area as well (Adams Family, Bacchus Family, Shannon and Bruce). It was great to have everyone there. Thank you for making the day (and weekend) so special and memorable! Thanks to Shannon and Jackie, here are a few pictures from the weekend:

Honeymoon!

After our wedding on Saturday August 18, which so many wonderful friends and family who came from the east and the west (we can't thank you enough for all being there to be a part of our special day), we were able to go relax for a week in St. George, Utah. It was hot, but not too hot, which was nice. We did all sorts of things-golf (no, I didn't golf, I just drove the cart), swim, shop, go to Vegas, see Team USA play, see all the So. UT historic sites, and slept! Much needed sleep, which was so nice. Here are some of the places we visited:

Dinner in Ancestor's Square, in front of a historic home, brought to Ancestor's Square

Dinner at the Painted Pony....look at that AMAZING French Onion Soup!

At the Arizona state line!

We went to Vegas for a day...this is our stop in front of the Nevada State Line!

Going back to the days when I worked at the candy store "How Sweet It Is" where we had a M&M ColorWorks Machine similar to the one above

Drew and I at M&M World

In front of an elevtaor!

At the Coca Cola Factory

At the Thomas and Mack Center seeing Team USA!

Jenna's Bridal Shower

My friends Shannon, Jackie, and Samantha thew a wonderful shower with many friends from growing up in Palo Alto, college at BYU, and the Stanford Ward. We had wonderful breakfast food-scrambled eggs, crepes, and toppings/inside additions galore! (whip cream, nutella, chocolate chips, powdered sugar, lots of fruit..just to name a few). It was decorated beautifully with flowers, pictures of Drew and I, and of course the presence of each person that was able to attend! They even gave me a scrapbook to remember the day, where each person had a picture with me, and then a note that they wrote to me. So wonderful! We have it on our coffee table with the other photo albums for people to see when they come to visit. Here are some of the pictures that are in there:

One of my college roommates Shannon. I was so lucky that she also moved home two years ago when we both left BYU. It was so nice to have a best friend so close...I really do miss her!

One of my best friends in Palo Alto...we became so close in such a short amount of time. One day Lindsay Schilaty and I decided we just had to be friends with Jackie Ball, and now we're closer than ever...who knew?! I miss you tremendously!!! I have no one else to see every day!

One of the great things about living in the same area you grew up in is that you can have people you were friends with since you were young come to things like this! From left to right: Lindsay Frankfurt, Jake Keller (don't worry, he just came to pick up Laura) Laura Wolfson, Me, Kat Griffin, and Indy Malimbam

So at the end of the shower, Drew came to meet some of the life long friends that he had never met. We made him wear the ribbon bouquet...isn't he just adorable! (too bad you can't see his face, where he is rolling his eyes...)
