Update from Utah

I figure I should probably contribute to this glorious blog that carries my name. Allow me to update you on the most recent events in Utah. I am done with classes and enjoying these few reading days before I get to take finals. I have been able to sleep in past 9:00 A.M. for the first time in several months. It's been quite enjoyable. I have already taken 1 final and have 5 more to go. I am moving to California on Wednesday the 25th. My good friend gets married in Sacramento on the 27th and I'll be full time in Palo Alto on the 29th.

I am so excited to finally get to be with Jenna. We have been doing the long-distance thing for way too long, and finally we'll be inseparable. I am waiting to decide which internship to do this summer. My degree will be in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. My two options currently are with Intel and A&R Edelman. I am leaning towards Edelman because a good friend works there, and it is exactly in-line with my major, but we'll see what the two offer when I interview in person at the end of the month.

Both options are great, and I've worked really hard to get myself in this good of a position. This summer promises to be one of enjoyment and memories, and I look forward to seeing some of you very soon. Thanks for all your love and support. Until next time.

Easter weekend

I was lucky enough to have a few days off after Easter, so I went to Utah to spend time with Drew and my sisters. I also had some time to do some wedding planning while I was there. My cousin Jessica was kind enough to come dress shopping with me; I had dinner with Drew, Anne and Carson (future brother in law), Rachel and BJ (the guy that she is dating) at Macaroni Grill..so great because there isn't one very close to here so it was great to have that. I also was able to go apt. hunting, do some things in the employment office for BYU so I can apply for a job there, celebrate Drew's best friends birthday and just had a great time.

Drew and I along the Provo River.....best picture with the ring so far!

Chad's Birthday Party (Drew's best friend)

While out shopping, we decided to stop in at See's for fun...this is a 4lb box of chocolate, yours for only $71.84. Crazy huh?!

Our First Post!

Ok, so since we're now engaged, and some of our dearest friends are now throughout the country, we thought it would be fun to start a blog to track our life. We got engaged March 16, 2007 in Provo, UT while I was out here to run the Moab Half Marathon. I was to have breakfast at 8:30, which I was all ready for (I am really trying to be ready earlier than I need to be so I can be on time), when Drew called and said that his mom was running late. Fine, no biggie. Then five minutes later, his best friend Chad Hill knocks on the door with a rose, card, and Drew's car keys. I read it and start to worry...Anne, my sister, was on the couch and I said what do I do?! I am supposed to go to breakfast with his mom?! She said well I don't know, call his mom...then Chad calls and says "Oh yea, Melody cancelled." Ok, so I was free to start the adventure....

He led me from one grandparent; to the next; to his parents; to Chad's parents; to the Provo Temple; to Pizza Factory; to Ernie's Sandwiches; to BYU Games Center; BYU Service and Learning Center; my old apt (yes the one I lived in for a year in a half) B306 in the Elms (with notes from my roommates that I had while I was there); then to these beautiful gardens in the Business Park at the Riverwoods. Each place had a rose and a note--containing a creatively written poem on where to go and directions. I found Drew in the garden down on one knee where he said: "Virginia Jenna Elizabeth Hamilton, will you marry me?" I didn't have to think twice and immediately responded: "Yes!"

So we are very excited and happy. We are looking forward to starting our new life together....a date is to come, but we will let you all know as soon as it is decided.
